Enhancing Continuous Recording with ZMANA

Enhancing Continuous Recording with ZMANA

The evolution of residential video systems has significantly transformed how property owners monitor and safeguard their homes. In this era of advanced technology, there is a growing preference for systems that don’t just alert homeowners to incidents but also provide round-the-clock recording capabilities. ZMANA, in partnership with Alarm.com, has been at the forefront of this innovation, continuously evolving to meet these demands.

Since Alarm.com introduced the SVR100 in 2016, there has been a significant leap in the quality and functionality of continuous recording solutions. This year, we are excited to announce new user interface enhancements and hardware options that further solidify our commitment to providing comprehensive and reliable 24/7 video monitoring services.

Improved Analytics on Cameras

While analytics-driven recording rules have improved the precision and relevance of alerts, they have typically been limited to event-based clips. For those customers who require uninterrupted coverage, the solution lies in local recording options. Stream Video Recorders (SVRs) and onboard recording with microSD cards have emerged as the most effective options.

Local recordings offer the advantage of continuous, encrypted video capture, which is stored on a device within the home. This footage can then be remotely accessed through the app or customer website. An added benefit is the assurance that network disruptions will not compromise the integrity of the surveillance system.

In 2020, we took a significant leap forward with the launch of 24/7 onboard recording capabilities for the Alarm.com Wi-Fi cameras, models V523 and V723. This innovation allows customers to store continuous, encrypted video footage directly onto microSD cards in their cameras, with remote playback functionality available via the app and website.

Onboard recording offers multiple benefits. It ensures uninterrupted video capture even during network outages and provides secure, encrypted storage of footage on microSD cards. These cards can only be accessed by customers through their accounts, ensuring privacy and security. Additionally, the system is designed to automatically overwrite the oldest footage, eliminating the need for manual deletion and ensuring continuous recording.
